I'm using a G34 gen 3 with no modifications other than replacing sights and adding grip tape for IDPA (SSP), 2-gun and 3-gun. I run extended magazines in the multi-gun.

Hmmm, never seen a 586 with a lock before. The L-frames are solid. I have a 581 (no adjustable sight) from the 1980's that as far as I know, has never had a trigger job, but still has a good smooth DA pull. Enjoy.
A Taurus PT92. Didn't know much about handguns 25 years ago. It was actually a pretty good DA/SA pistol. Traded it for something. Kind of wish I still had it.
I started using a G34 3rd gen a little over a year ago for IDPA, 2-gun and 3-gun. It has a better (for Glock) trigger right out of the box than my G17 3rd gen. It's bone stock except for sights. Been a great addition.
