Sounds like what happened is that place may have sunk a good deal of money into the project but didn't set up alternate revenue streams. An indoor range is an expensive project, and you're not going to become profitable unless you offer some other services and/or products.

It's not just the Makarovs that are there, but there are large quantities of Glock 9mm for all of the Iraqi Police - event the ones who just came in long enough to get issued a weapon. Those are all over the place.

He's a SAW gunner; It can send 1,000 rds per minute down range in cyclic mode. He's not going to need a sidearm.
Tell him to clean his weapon every time he sits down and that SAW will treat him just fine.

My wife is the only one who knows I carry - I try to casually dodge the question if I'm asked directly "do you carry". Works so far - even if someone suspects, they haven't gotten it from me :)
I ended up buying my own rig because I didn't like the MOLLE-type LBE/LBV that the Corps was issuing, so I got a Blackhawk RECON chest rig and was using the Blackhawk 2-mag STRIKE pouches.

I normally use nothing, I just take the magazine as it comes. However, if I was to use a magpull device I'd choose the Floor Plates. I decided against the MagPull brand when prepping for my last tour because they were so thick as to prevent me from keeping two magazines in my 2-magazine...
