Who'd have guessed there'd be so much trouble making new Enfields?

Do they realize how much money they could make on the civilian market? How many people in the US and Canada would pay like crazy for a .308 enfield with modern steel and manufactoring? Couldn't that offset the cost, if Colt Canada were to make it?

selling a gun - any feelings of responsibility?

Illinois, as always, is corrupt. Notice the "3" there, which denotes "limited supplemental data," odd that it's the only state that happened to. http://articles.redeyechicago.com/2012-01-22/news/30656690_1_gunshot-victims-chicago-homicides-homicide-numbers 422 homicides in Chicago alone in...

Contemplating a rifle comparison.... Input desired!

Sounds nice. But can I make a suggestion? A lot of "entry level" hunting rifles are usually old sporters found at pawnshops, or handed down in the family. Example 1917 Enfield Sporter, 30-06, good condition(light bore frosting), $300(http://www.simpsonltd.com/product_info.php?products_id=29393)...

    The Husqvarna Club

Thought I'd bring this thread back, see if there is still any interest in these old classics. This is a 1954 Husqvarna, in .270, made off a FN action. Monte Carlo stock, Timney Sportsman trigger, deluxe stock, Leupold VAR-X II scope. Great rifles for the price...

What Does "Have Gun Will Travel" mean to you?

How do you hug while carrying a concealed handgun

Bear hug, lift, shake. I want to see at least 30 degrees of movement either side from the feet.

    Best Budget Bolt Action?

Does it have to be new? A Husqvarna in the 640, 1640, or 1900 action are real sleepers. No one really knows much about them, but they are excellent rifles in the mauser family, with excellent steel and finishing. Go for around $500, a lot of them.

    Wood, Or...

Rifles have been wood, and dragged through the harshest conditions possible. For centuries. With blackpowder rifles that required dousing the stocks with water for most of that time. I don't get why people talk about wood stocks as if they will fall apart under the slightest rough handling...

Most visually appealing handgun brands of ammo?

So, there is a thread on the general discussions forum about the most visually appealing cartridges, and it got me thinking about this picture I had seen: I'm not the most artistic guy in the world, but the black tipped ammo next to the Walther P5 look beautiful to me. The Liberty Halo...

    destroyed my springfield, now what?

http://www.simpsonltd.com/product_info.php?products_id=30725 30-06, Husqvarna rifle. Commercial mauser with great steel. Sweet. Right at your price point.

    what not to dry-fire

I've heard, "don't dry fire old guns," but that newer guns are fine. Any general cutoff date? For example, a Browning HP is pretty much unchanged since the 1930's, is a 90's or now BHP safe to dry fire? Or what about a 1953 Husqvarna AB rifle, made with good steel, but 60 years old, and based on...

What gun should I get? [comical answer inside]

Close-ish. The battery mysteriously died and one tire deflated when I went to get my oil changed, once. Still going strong, except drink holder broken off and door handle sticks out.

    Swiss K31 stripper clips availability?

Swissbianco was designing a metal stripper clip for the k-31, based on the metal one that lost in the trials for stripper clips. Don't know how far along that is, he's got a youtube video of them.

    Best quality AK style weapon

Hmmm, since the question was "ak style" and not "ak variant," I'm gonna put my two cents in on the Czechmate VZ-58.
