I dont' spend much time on paved roads so my truck gun is /has been used to dispatch various animals, but mostly coyotes when the 17hmr won't reach.and the synthetic remmy in 30-06 and scope is kinda tactical.
I have to agree that our youth today is a little disappointing, but there are some good quality young folks mixed in that group, remember to thank their parents next time you see'em
the bride bought me the low dollar marlin 17v for fathers day,and I have been out every weekend since trying to lower the prarie dog population in this area ,and I have to agree with most folks that this rifle outshoots me some days!but from 40 to 175 yards I have not missed or needed a second...
when I stopped using a 30-30 in 1984 I switched to my current 30-06,and from prairie goats to elk it takes'em-I prefer the 180grain on the animals I hunt, does what I need without overdoing it
many a muley and elk have fallen after the first, but they never saw the next round get jacked in the tube in case they did'nt!murphy's law made me pick#4.
Those tankers have their tubes "on the decks",just sittin back enjoying the show!.and alot of private gun owners used to shoot those big guns and most still could once its liberated from the original owner!
while I was single ,the only time I used a firearm was deer and elk season, had a marlin 336 to fill the tags-now that I have a wife and two kids I need a "hobby" to get me out of the house and preserve what ever sanity is left-so wifes lets me buy guns to keep me happy!
