    .243 with 55gr pills.. can't get cartridge OAL

    .243 and my Model 700 Rem In the search for the magic .243 bullet, 55gr example ended up not being able to hold on.. too much jump (ie:short).. Most anything else with plus weight worked. 100gr-H414 ended up doin' the trick and easy on the barrel.

    Problems with 45 seating die.

    Give de-burring the case a try w/LSWC. It will allow the bullet to sit straighter for seating. Taper crimping helps too.

    Excellent metering powders for 45ACP

    200gr LSWC, Bullseye (4.6g), CCI 300, w/OAL 1.2" Shoots well, cleans up easily, measures well enough with this lite a load to not create many problems and is a good starting point. OAL to be adjusted to suit your needs.

    De-burring the ID of straight side cases is helpful for seating any type lead bullet.

    Anyone using 2230?

    I guess the horse is out of the barn with AA2230, works well with smaller calibers ( i use it exclusively w/243 @ 55g), and 222/3. Anything heavier than 55g, I have better results using slower powder.

    seating clearance I tend to increase with larger calibers... not much but enough to not have a handing concern when moving from here to there.
