    Hodgdon Titegroup?

good powder I use it for medium velocity 9mm target loads and low velocity .357/ 148 hb wadcutter target loads. It works well in both, and is pretty clean. ...pooch

    Electronic hearing protection?

gk1, thanks for the link. I was told by Dillon their muffs are made in USA. By your link it looks like they have headquaters in both US and Hong Kong, so hopefully what they told me was true. At any rate, they are on order, and I will post a review once I have used them for a while...

    Electronic hearing protection?

gk1, CED, is that an American company? I think I may be leaning towards the Dillons as well. (HP1)

    Electronic hearing protection?

I am in the market for a new set of muffs. I am thinking I will give the electronics a try. The ones I am considering are the Peltor Tac 6 & Tac 7 models, and another member has a pair of the Radians that sound pretty good, so I'm considering those too. I would appreciate advice from people who...

Ear Protection, options for less than $75?

Railroader, I was just wondering if you think the Radians reduce the noise level suffeciently by themselves, or would you also need to use them in conjunction with ear plugs? Also, how would you rate the quality of these muffs? I have been considering the Peltor tac 6 model. Looks like the...

    What powder... (.308)

I guess I will echo what several others have said here. I used several different powders in my .308 but finally settled on Varget. 4064 is good too, but Varget is less temp sensitive and meters better in the measure. Also in my rifle, Varget gives me better velocity with less pressure signs...

.223: Load Information using Hornady V-Max bullets?

27.7 gr. W748 w/ 50 gr V-max. Don't start there. Start lower and work up. 748 shoots good in the .223 but is rather dirty and temp sensitive. Other powders you might like to try in the .223... N133 & Benchmark. If your Savage has a fast twist and likes heavy bullets try Varget.... pooch

Good caliber for reloading and accuracy

Your original idea of .223 is not a bad one if you are just shooting to 300 yds. I have shot the .223 in informal fun matches at 300 yds for several years and it does surprisingly well. Recently I built a .223 AI. and am having a lot of fun with it. It requires more in the way of dies and...

    Shooting from Bench, cheating/unskilled??

Steve, I don’t feel picked on, nor did I get my feelings hurt. There are always going to be people posting on these boards who obviously don’t know what they are talking about. That’s just the way it is, and sometimes you feel like you have to point it out. On the other hand there are...
