Having talked to a lot of guys that reload over the years, I'm convinced that the #1 goal of the majority of them is to see how hot they can load stuff, which I'm sure leads to a lot of damaged firearms. I don't understand it myself, but that seems to be the way it is.

Me and a buddy was discussing the cost of me reloading my ammo vs what he can get it for at the gun show. Caliber in question is .45-70. The size bullet I use ( 405gr coated cast) and the brass I use (if brand new Starline), and the particular power I use (IMR 3031), my cost at current prices...

I shoot so I can have something to reload. Each round is cheaper than store bough, but I'm sure I've not started saving money yet. I just find it enjoyable.

Those two are gage pins as noted, used for measuring holes. Normally they are either .0002 over or under nominal size.

I think Charlie 98 nailed it. Leverevolution brass is shorter than regular brass.
