First time dissasembling and cleaning my AR

This sounds like a very good idea. Since I am not in the least mechanically-inclined, I have purchased the appropriate AGI Gunsmithing series DVD for each firearm I own. It has given me the confidence to take them apart and work on them (minor stuff). A few years ago I had the good fortune to...

    Savage bolt rifle question

Thanks, I'll give them a call tomorrow. By the way, I'm a Kansas boy, born and bred. Don't know how I ended up in this crazy state! :)

    Savage bolt rifle question

Not too good at describing things but what I mean is: when closed, even with safety on, the bolt "handle" (?) can be lifted out of position easily and "wobbles" around (i.e. - has a lot of play in it). The bolt itself, where it engages in the chamber, is solid. Hope that helps.

    Savage bolt rifle question

I just purchased a Savage 12FV in .223. Everything looks fine except that I notice that the bolt is loose when in the closed position (unlike my Ruger and CZ bolt guns). Is this normal for a Savage?

    Surplus .30-06 in bolt gun?

I have a quantity of the Greek surplus .30-06 that I purchased from CMP and shoot in my M1 Garand. I am going to buy a Remington bolt-action rifle in the same caliber and wondered if it is safe to shoot the Greek ammo in it? I know that there are issues with shooting military surplus 5.56 ammo...

    California ccw permit?

"Fresno kind of sucks. Lots of Gang problems and murder." In other words, it's like any other American city with a population over 25,000. Unless you live there, don't spread rumors about a city you know nothing about. My brother and sister and their families all live in Fresno, have for over...

    Sig 220 manufacture date?

Thanks, Evan, I'll try that tonight when I get home.

    Sig 220 manufacture date?

Contacted Sig by phone. Representative said that they have changed their policy. It was costing them too much to answer these kinds of questions :what: so I would have to pay the $12.95 if I want to know when the gun was manufactured. Sig Customer Service = :barf: All they would have to do is...

    Sig 220 manufacture date?

I have a Sig 220 that I purchased in like new condition. I was trying to determine the manufacture date. I e-mailed Sig and they said that for only $12.95 they would be glad to tell me. Boy, love that customer service! Anyway, since I don't want to have to pay for the info, does...

    Enfield Identification Question

Thanks, Doug, I really appreciate the information. I'll keep digging to see if I can find any more about the "DB" serial number. By the way, I also am the proud parent of a U.S. Army soldier - a lifer who is back in Iraq for his second go-round. Congrats on both yours!

    Enfield Identification Question

I recently purchased an Enfield No.4 Mk I ROF (F) 1943 rifle with the serial number DB29317A. I think it may have been made at Fazakerley but the serial number doesn't seem to be on any lists I can find. It may have been rearsenaled or privately refurbished. Can someone give me any information...
