My Take(s):
A. If you fitted it with just a ten round AR mag, it could be a poor man's C96; you'd need a custom holster, though.
B. M2 Carbine's variant would be both a little burp gun and a truck gun, too.
Any double-edged sword, double-edged is second only to a bullet in stopping a man.
I've eliminated:
Trident: too precision to use, easily deflected/broken.
Scimitar: Good xiphos/bastard sword and shield would beat this.
katana: see scimitar.
Survival knife: easily defeated by thick clothing.
1. Buy Quality.
2. Shoot quality ammo.
3. Use quality magazines.
4. Clean your weapon after every firing session.
5. Store in a relatively safe place after 4.
6. Don't deliberately mistreat a weapon.
7. It won't fail you, wheelgun or automatic.
The best tool for for facing any dangerous big game animal, is a semiautomatic rifle stoked with soft noses. Soft noses penetrate, then expand.
AN SKS, AK, FAL, Mini 14, will do just fine here.
Despite what you see in hollywierd, the secutor usually slew the retiarius.
A spear is a very bad choice for facing a double-edged sword. Reason: The shaft is light wood, the swing of a gladuis or Xiphos or Spatha or knightly longsword would have split in half. After which, the spearman is toast.
My pal, Joe Coalgrove, shot a bear with HP, from an SKS. Bear ran off, back next day. I gave him some SP. Two shots, dead bear.
AK with a DFoolding stock and ghost ring or Mini 14 may be good here, too.
If this was true, wouldn't the Germans have tried this against our troops; from North Africa onwards? I have yet to read/hear any German recollections
on this tactic.
As heavy as the ETO was, I vote 'myth'.
Social Organization is why Europeans took over much of the globe. In European society, the individual was rewarded for innovation. Johannes Gutenberg is praised as the father of the printing press. In the Ottoman Empire, the scribes guild suppressed printing presses until the 1800s. This is why...
If you have a .45 acp revolver that uses full moon clips, you can shoot .45 GAP in it. Lighter bullet=less kick. People with bad wrists, the reduced recoil would make such a rig a good choice for them.
Love .45 acp, but can see also the potential advantages of .45 GAP.
I love .45 acp, but I want the GAP to succeed too.
Did .44 magnum replace .44 special? Did .45 acp replace .45 Colt?
NO. The British used .455 Webley for many years, it was smaller than .45 acp; just as potent.
It's MASS that make .45-caliber pistols work so well. From .45 LC to .45...
