    9mm buying decision

I own both the SR9 and the Glock19. I like them both, but the Glock is preferred for easier take-down, and more aftermarket goodies. But I like the safety on the SR9. It all depends on your preferences and your situation in life as to which brand of gun you choose. I used to be a Glock...

.44 Special through .44 Magnum gun?

Yes sir, .44 specials will shoot through a 44 mag revolver, just like 38 specials can be used in a 357 mag revolver. Keeps practice time a little less expensive.

Glock 17 or Glock 34? Compare.

Get a 19. Large enough size for target shooting, and can be CC'd if necessary. Not too big, not too small. Best of both worlds. Holds 15 rounds in the magazine. Works for me!

    New 44 special, new load

.44 Special "Flat-top", 5.5 inch barrel model pictured. Lipsey's had them as an exclusive there for a while, but now Ruger has them in their regular lineup. These are strongly built guns designed to handle the hot .44 loads. I love mine!

Which .380 pocket pistol under $600 is best and why?

LCP. Mine has never, ever had a malfunction of any kind. Not a pleasure to shoot, but it is not intended as a range pistol. Very lightweight and concealable for around 300 bucks. (Just my two drachmas)

    Rock Island Armory 1911

RIA 's are a great value for the money. I own five of them (GI, Tactical, Match, Compact, and Mid-sized). I don't own a hi-cap version (never saw a need for a hi-cap 1911). All of my Rocks are great shooters. I had a problem with my Mid-sized 4" Rock Island a while back (broken reverse...

    Hand Primer Suggestions

I have the old-style (round tray) Lee Auto Prime. Does the job just fine by me. The newer style square ones look even better at less than 20 bucks. I use a lot of Lee reloading and casting stuff, and never had a problem that I did not help create. To each his own...

    Question for proficient 1911 users...

    1911 Plastic mainspring housing??

My first 1911 was a Kimber Custom II with walnut grips and trittium night sights that I paid over $1k for about 8 years or so ago. I was quite surprised to find that it had a plastic mainspring housing. I replaced it with a metal one. The plastic one worked fine, but it just did not seem...

good priced supplier of reloading components?

Starline Brass has good prices and free shipping. But they are usually backed up, if you don't mind the wait. I cast my own boolits and get my alloys from Rotometals (good prices and lightening fast shipping).

Federal .45 ammo with small pistol primers

I have contacted Federal, and here is their answer. All Federal .45 ammo in their "Champion" line will be produced with small primered brass and a copper-plated bullet from now on. This is being done to keep down costs so that Federal can keep this brand within it's price point, according to...

Federal .45 ammo with small pistol primers

Bought two boxes of Federal 230g FMJ at WallyWorld the other night, and this is what I found when I got home. Large primers on the right, small primers on the left. Same SKU and barcode on the boxes. The small primered .45's have a very cheaply made projectile (appears to be Cu plated)...
