Porterdog,
The wider band might be nice. I did not really like the older ones, they did not "pop out" as much in daylight, but they did the job.
Also, I will not be needing that 228 trigger, as I am purchasing a different 226 that has the standard trigger. I appreciated the offer...
Thanks for the holster info. I normally just make do with what I have around, or what I get issued. I like hearing what other folks are using. This is something I feel I probably should have been putting more thought into...not just what I am carrying, but how I am carrying it. Still sounds...
Academy has a smokin' price on that ammo, but I don't think there are any Academy Sports retailers in my area....and no shipping from their website. Not trying to go the cheap route, just trying to save a few bucks since I am fully outfitting myself for the new gun, on and off-duty. I will...
Well, the deal fell through on my friend's 226 that had less than 100 rounds fired through it. He was able to sell it for $745, while I was not able to make an offer that came even close. So, yesterday, I did like many of you and ordered a CPO Sig P226 in 9mm from James at Ordnance Outfitters...
Those are great prices. I think my friend stated that he spent around $40 for a 17-rd. mag.....rediculous...but that was probably a couple years ago. Still trying to get hold of him to make the buy...but out-of-town business trip is hampering communication.
$389 is a pretty awesome price for any functioning Sig full-size or compact! However, some of the guns I looked at for under $500 seemed a little sloppy...the gun was rattling when I shook it. One reputable shop here showed me a used 226....looked great for a great price until I took out the...
I looked at a lot of CPO Sigs yesterday, and I must say there were positives and negatives to that deal. The prices were good and the condition of the firearms often looked great. It seems that you often lose on the extras, like hi-cap mags and sights. Most of the guns with night sights that...
Thanks!
Porterdog,
Thanks for that offer. I may have to take you up on that. I need to start dealing with my friend and get a committment for a purchase. Hopefully he has not sold it yet, as I have been stalling.:scrutiny:
Yeah, I don't like buying sight-unseen either. But I have known this guy for going on 18 years and was in his wedding. He has an eye for the finer things in life, including firearms, and from what I have seen, takes meticulous care of them. So I would think of dropping the cash....it's just a...
Gentleman,
Thanks for the word on the price, the 17-rd mag and the short trigger. I am in a strange predicament in that my friend's gun is actually in another state at family's house. I would be buying sight unseen...not a problem since it has barely been touched. But I would not be able to...
Hi All. I am new to this forum and am not sure if I have posted to the correct section. I am a long-time Sig user, but not yet an owner. My duty weapon at work is a P228.
I was thinking of purchasing a P226, as a friend of mine is looking to sell his and buy another gun. I was hoping to get...
