Can deadly force be used to recover property?

I knew someone would ask this.... :) OK, All the items I quoted were from the local newspaper in Olympia WA between 1990 and 1999. Also virtually all of the same stories were repeated on the Seattle WA TV news stations on the same day with virtually the same quotes from the presiding law...

    6.5x55 or 7mm-08

I agree with Ironworker. Reload 308 or 7.62 military cases after running through a standard 7mm-08 die. No problem and cheap. Forget the foreign ammo. The swedes are great rifles if you have the money, but new American rifles will shoot as good and do it for a lot less. Don't overlook the...

Can deadly force be used to recover property?

Washington State CWL 13 years ago I lived in Oly WA and had a "Concealed Weapon License". This allowed me to carry a handgun, knife, or virtually any lethal or non-lethal device that I wanted. It did not specify what the weapon could be. As to use of deadly force it stated: "The use of deadly...

What's in a Lube (for sizing brass)

I use a Very thin film of chain saw bar oil. It is so effective that you can just lube every 4th case if you want. Cheap and easy to find.

    Project Rifle is done

Ditto on the Weaver mounts, but you did some great work and found a super example to start with. A real heirloom to keep in the family. Well done!!

Old school .243 Winchester model 70s

Great collection! Years ago I had a mint 270 featherweight with 22" barrel and a 4X Lyman Alaskan scope. I bought it used in 1960 and like a fool, sold it in 1964, thinking I could always buy another....WRONG!! I am envious...

Here http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2011/06/benjamin-t-shotzberger/%EF%BB%BF-gun-review-smith-and-wesson-mp15-sport/ I have seen these for under $600.00 new. All metal lower, S&W quality.:)

    62 gr 223/5.56 Loads

You have gotten a lot of good advise already, but I will just add that the 49th edition of Lyman's manual lists loads for "223" but they were developed in NATO chambers. Their max load for H335 with the 63gr Sierra flat base simi-point (same shape as 64gr Hornady bonded base) is just .3gr over...

Are there any Lee Dippers out there?

Double Dip I use a homemade dipper that holds a few granules below the desired weight and then use a trickler to bring up the scale. I like to weigh all rifle charges anyway. You can use a super small dipper as a trickler if you have a good touch. Good tip on the cut off cartridge case...

Looking for 62- or 64-grain bullets

Those Sierra #1370 look like a good choice to match the Nosler 64 gr bonded base. The contour and length look very similar. I am in the process of doing just what you are for my Mini-14. I am moving up from 55gr but can't go to the longer BT/SP bullets as my gun don't like them.

I have a problem with "Shot placement is key" and "Overpenetration"

Don't really need to argue this. The FBI keeps a database of shootings by federal and any other participating LEO's. Until they stopped using them, the .357 with 125 gr hp loads had more (one shot) stops than any other handgun by many times over. High velocity + lightly constructed HP bullets...

    Walmart ARs

I don't know anything about AR15 models, but Sportsmens Warehouse had Bushmasters last month for about $660.00 to 675.00? In Oregon (local store no tax).

Any tricks to "slick up" the inside of my IWB holster?

Holster I have a leather holster for my Security Six that has the rough side in. It came to me in brown and the inside gripped the gun, making it hard to draw. I wanted it black, so used a shoe leather stain that is actually a liquid wax polish. I also coated the inside of the holster with...

    Glass Bedding Mini-14?

Thanks 35 Welen, I will check out the bedding info. and the heat eating. I have been reading up on the cyro process, but it seems that the well known barrel makers don't endorse it, despite the wild claims of the cyro companies.
