.06-,08" doesn't sound right either....pretty thin.
I believe most holster makers are about .125" (8oz.)....where 6-8mil doesn't work either.
Maybe just too early in the morning for math.....
Gene, I can't take credit for that one, I was asked to do something similar for a S&W .500 and I found that picture on the web while I was researching.
Good advise JTQ...also...horsehide is gonna be tough to get in a length required to make a belt for a 320 lb. man....of course, splicing a couple straps could be an option.
A buddy of mine saw this thread and asked me if I could make something similar for his carry items......so we put our heads together and came up with this.
He's taken it for a test drive...so far so good...

That aside, I'm sure you know by now, that if you line up 12 leather workers and ask them the same " how do you do this....." type of question, you're very likely to get 12...
