Interesting story. The question was raised about the little co2 discharger being capable of such a task......... FWIW; About two years ago at the range, I "dry-balled" a .54 GPR. I didn't have a puller, or the Co2 discharger with me, so I just got another rifle from the truck and finished...

FWIW, Wish I could have read this a couple of years back. I had the same gun, In fact I bought the "Signature Series" which included a 1861 Colt Musket, and the revolver mentioned, which was cased in a nice presentation box. I had the identical problem, and later found out the solution...

I know exactly of what you speak! Better advise is hard to find. Get what you want, or you will never be happy with what you got. I can say this with a certain amount of experience too. I don't want to take away from this thread, but it took me years, and cost a lot of necessary money...

If you are referring to MEC, I have the book "Percussion Pistols and Revolvers" by Johnny Bates, and Mike Cumpston. It is a good book and I have learned a lot from it. I said in the very beginning that I think this is the best web site of it's kind on the internet....now, I'm even more...
