For mountain/technical biking, I use a paddle holster, and have a fannypack with some repair and first aid stuff in it. Works very well.
For riding around town my normal CCW gear, IWB holster and a long shirt, work well for me.
In extremis, I would place my gun and holster in a backpack if...
2nd the hearing protection.
This is how I have delt with new, somewhat timid shooters in the past.
Take her and maybe one or two of her trusted friends aside with a .22 rifle or good .22 pistol.
Keep other well meaning "helpers" at a distance if you can.
Don't overwelm them with caliber this...

I'm an expirienced shooter. I like firearms of all kinds, good knives, and good gear.
I don't care about how "tacticool" a weapon or piece of kit is, I only care if it works!
I'm a perpetual student, and if it isn't down right stupid or dangerous, I'll try it.
