    Single Shot Buffalo rifles

I compete at three clubs shooting from 100 to 300 yards. Steel silhouette and paper bullseye. I wanted to see if you guys were really into the details loading for your single shots.

    Single Shot Buffalo rifles

Any one here that shoots the old guns (centerfire) and cartridges, replicas, custom builds? Sharps type, falling block, rolling block...……………………….. Either smokeless or black powder. Just plink or competition. I would like to pick a brain or two.

    I need a belt

1/4" thick (2 ply) 1.5" wide. Roller buckle does not kill the edges. No, you will not notice the belt. Anything bigger than a K frame or almost any semi-auto, a belt like this is necessary.

    Rimfire Accuracy

Slamfire, the 22 round uses a heeled bullet. Body fits the case, front of body stops on the stop bullet. Stop bullets are used often in BP match competition. The Minnie ball rear end also works very well. That tail will flair and fill up the lands and grooves and seal off any gas that would...

    custom made holsters?

Interesting take on "custom holsters". I do it to satisfy my days. Hobby that pays for itself. I would not look forward to investing time and money to make it my bread and butter. Better have some working capital along with equipment to start.

    Salt bath annealing?

A long time ago, I cast bullets for the 45ACP to use in IPSC (they called it IPSC back when). I didn't care what Brinell or what weight. I needed volume. Now that I started the long range stuff, I need accuracy. I set up a PID with my Lee pot and now I am able to cast bullets within .5 grains of...

    Salt bath annealing?

Blue, Ebay. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2380057.m570.l1313.TR11.TRC2.A0.H0.Xpid.TRS1&_nkw=pid&_sacat=0 Actually, I purchased all the items from Amazon. I watched a video on you tube and purchased the one he uses. I believe I spent $60.00 or so. I did not get a project box.

    What is a "DA/SA transition"?

"Same exact trigger pull for every shot is better." I would think that if you are not a robot, this statement would be "the last word'. Can't see, if we are talking mechanical, how this would not be better/the best. If we are talking training I suppose one could shoot enough to train the...

    Struggling with .45 ACP

Ever see someone on the range smacking the back of the slide? Or trying to get the round out of the chamber? Most times, the brass is not being sized all the way down. Screw you sizing die down so no gap exits. Even a tad of pressure on the shell plate.

    Dominant eye discovery

left eye dominant, right handed. Trying to get some people to do the hole test correctly is difficult. Try this. Make a dime sized hole in a piece of paper. Have the person hold the paper at arms length and look at an object through the hole. Tell them to slowly bring the paper to their nose...

    Salt bath annealing?

PS: The salt bath would not be more dangerous than the molten lead. Some of us who cast in the summer learn not to lean over the lead pot and let a drop of sweat hit an unfortunate spot. The salt bath will react to most of the same items that molten lead would react.

    Salt bath annealing?

This is a PID. This plugs into the wall and you plug in your lead pot to the PID. A thermocouple plugs into the PID and is inserted into the lead pot. For those of us who are anal about making the perfect bullet, it is important to maintain a constant temperature of lead melt. Looking into the...
