    Innovation?

I think maybe there is more innovation in firearm accessories (sights, poly stocks, etc) and cartridges than in actual firearms. However, I wouldn't say there has been none. The KRISS Vector, for example, was a design that was pretty different than anything prior.

    Buying Ammo online

I have ordered from them several times. All good experiences. I have been fortunate to catch good deals on .45 Colt and 10mm. I've used their re-manufactured ammo and not been disappointed. I will buy from them again, no question.

Best and worst experiences in a gun shop?

Two of my worst experiences were in the same store, which is now out of business. Small gun shop in a small, speed-trap town. Time frame was around 2011. First time: I go in the store, and before I can browse around, guy working there says "what can I help you find?". Great, right? I tell...

    Mantis-X

I have had a MantisX for a couple of years. Mine mounts on a rail and does dry or live fire. I like it. I often use it in conjunction with LaserLyte target (with laser cartridges) when I can't get outside. As previously mentioned, it will show you things about your trigger pull &...

    Should I get a C&R?

I had a C&R for 6 years, starting around 2008. In the beginning, it was great. Lots of places had really good deals on old milsurp rifles, which is what I like. One downside I found was that some shops in my area would not "take the risk" of doing a straight transfer, since they "couldn't be...

The Closs case: what can we learn from it?

What edwardware said. Especially #3. Unless you have an exceptional 'safe room' - which almost no one really has - barricading is just cornering yourself for the bad guy(s).

    Read Unintended Consequences again

Completely agree with the Captain. Fantastic book! Need to re-read it myself.

Thoughts on the mantisX shot analyzer?

Cool. That will work until profiles get added. Thanks!

Thoughts on the mantisX shot analyzer?

Thanks for the quick response. What I was referring to was something more along the lines of establishing two or more user profiles within the software, so one could click a button that indicates "person X is shooting/practicing now" or "person Y is shooting/practicing now", so you could store...

Thoughts on the mantisX shot analyzer?

I picked up the MantisX a few weeks ago after a friend showed his to me. I like it, and think it's a valuable training tool There are some features I would like to see, such as the ability to store profiles for different shooters, but overall pretty cool for the money.

    My Wierd Gun Rant

Just to muddy the water.... don't forget that after the Nazis invaded Belgium, FN approached Remington about producing shotguns with the Browning name, to which they agreed. Many Brownings made in the mid-40's were made in the U.S. at the Remington factory. (Though that was years after the...

    Got A Llungman?

I have the AG42/B. +1 on what Sunray said. Not only will it bite you, it will take a core sample if you're not careful. Mine is more accurate than I am with decent ammo. Only issue I have ever had was the shell deflector popped out of the holder & had to be reinserted (which is easy to...

    Gun stickers on cars

Just my 2 cents... I don't put any firearm related decals on my vehicle. As mentioned many times in this thread, I believe it is essentially painting a target on your vehicle, not only for criminals, unfortunately. Some of the employers in the area will specifically target those vehicles...
