Kramer #3 or Broomeland Max Con V

I can't speak to the Bromeland, but I have a #3 and I have been very happy with it.

    Tactical crap not so crappy?

You need a light on a home defense gun only if you care who you shoot.

    Defensive Ammunition 101

    I vote 00BUCK and 1 ounce slugs.

First AR for defense. Needing advice.

I specifically restricted my comment about terminal ballistics to CQB range. I did not say a 5.56 can't make a mammal DRT (dead right there), it can. I'm well aware some 5.56 loads can also shoot through safety glass. All one ounce slugs shoot through windshields and outperform 5.56 as far as...

First AR for defense. Needing advice.

I would add to the "pros" for a shotgun superior terminal ballistics vs. mammals in CQB ranges compared to the 5.56 x 45, and when using slugs superior intermediate barrier penetration (think windshield).

First AR for defense. Needing advice.

I'm going to answer the question posed in post #1. Go to Wal-Mart or your LGS and buy the Colt 6920, currently in the $1050 range. Buy ten magazines and a couple of cases of ammo. Then invest in quality training. /thread

I picked up the MAK90 yesterday

Standard (not NATO) length stock. I got lucky, my receiver was square cut. Only stocks I could find for an angle cut MAK90 were ironwooddesigns.com wood stocks, which are nice, but pricey. I wanted to keep this rifle pretty simple.

The flash hider came with the gun, I don't know what kind it is.

The furniture is Ultimak. I did have to do some grinding on it. I used a bench grinder for the gross reductions and then a bastard file for the final fitting. So worth it, though, don't you think?

Every handgun collection should include these.

I'm going to answer this question from the perspective of a guy in the United States who carries a handgun all day, every day, every where it is legal to do so. With those parameters, every handgun collection should have: 1. A quality 1911 chambered in .45 ACP; 2. A Glock 17 or 19; 3. A S&W j...

Virginia Tech publishes final ‘Weapons on Campus’ regulation

If only they had this regulation in place before the massacre....

    1911 brand?

I've had a Kimber, two Colts and a Springfield. They all worked as they were supposed to work. If I did it all again, I'd skip the Kimber, but only because of the Schwarz safety. It was a real pain in the neck to detail strip, at least compared to the Series 70 Colts and the Springfield...

If you were limited to ONE handgun, what will you chose?

I voted Glock. If I could have only one, it would be a Glock 19. It does the most the best.

    Drill/tap 870 advice.

Fair enough, I inferred from your "not happy" with the bead that you were wishing for something with which you could be more accurate. If you prefer a rifle sight or ghost ring, have at it and please forgive me if my inference was off target, so to speak. Shotguns aren't rifles, so no, I don't...
