On my last movie, we had some brief "flashback" scenes where our protagonist was firing two (prop) 1911s into an unseen crowd of people. The "recoil" he gave the props looked like he was firing something substantially larger. After a bit of direction, he shot correctly. Those first bits were...

My dad is a retired cop. I'm not too sure about his position on handguns, but he and my stepmom shoot blackpowder whenever they go to their Rendezvous (mountain man-style retreats).

A ton of movies are shot in Canada because it's simply cheaper to shoot there (or was, at least). There's a lot of "New York" in Vancouver BC. :D Oh, and lucas_flesher, you're thinking The Brave One, which did indeed rock my socks.

Dang, Sam's is in Everett. :( I'd really like to lear to shoot, but I live in downtown Seattle and my only transportation is a 125cc scooter. (Stop laughing! :D) Maybe I'll just suck it up and trek out to Wade's in Bellevue. That's a long ride though.
