Crazy (good) Indiana Handgun License Experience

It doesn't just makes it easier to get data for a background check since all the legwork/data search has been done.

Huge news in IL (CCW, removal of Chicago AWB)

Still not coming back I grew up in Illinois and came back when the Navy needed me at Great Lakes. Retired from the Navy and left again. I am one state east and a whole lot better off for it. I visit family but that is all. Best of luck to those of you still there.

Jewelry Store did not allow concealed carry

Did you read the statement by at least 3 folks that the 30.06 signs carry the weight of law in Texas? Indiana like Missouri doesn't have that but if I go to another state I had better know what the law says in that state about legal carry if I wish to avoid meeting with their police.

    OPen carry in CC states

As an Indiana resident and Lifetime LTCH holder I carry both open and concealed and have never had a problem either way. If someone is frightened or offended that is their problem not mine.

Which State has the best gun laws?

I guess I will have to suffer by here in Indiana. State preemption, shall issue, lifetime license, Castle Law, Stand your Ground, sound suppression devices are legal, can't have short barreled shotguns (damn you John Dillinger) but SBR's are okay with tax stamp, full auto is okay too, pistol...

Smith and Wesson 22s good deal?

I have had one for 5 or so years now, every trip to the range it goes along and gets shot. Average of a couple hundred rounds at a time and it just keeps shooting. Accurate, easy to field strip, durable. I recommend it. Great price too.

my new lever action rifle,,,thanks guys

That 45-70 will kill deer just fine too. Probably won't expand much but since it is already .45 inch to begin with it should let air in and blood out just fine. I am with juk I want a .357 mag to go with my pistol.

    What to Buy?

Ruger Single Six or Bearcat would match nicely. With the Single Six you have the option of a second cylinder that allows use of .22 mag.

You have $1000, what do you buy?

Marlin 1894C in .357 to match my 4" 686-3 and lots of ammo.

What's a tough, utilitarian, and durable .357 double action revolver?

Add another vote for a 4" prelock 686. Easy to carry and will handle anything you want to throw at it. I know adjustable sights but I haven't had any problems.

    H & R Handi-rifle...talk me out of this!

I have considered one of these in a pistol caliber as Indiana will only allow pistol calibers for deer hunting. Has anyone had good luck in that area?
