I own a Stag L.H. AR and a Bushmaster AR .
Both are good rifles ( i like the Stag better for short range 18 in Barrel) when sighted in properly, Busting clay bird chips at 100 yards is no problem.Aim small, miss small .always good practice.Got the Bushmaster used (dept turn in ) for $475...
22-rimfire posted "Turn it up to a higher power only to take a shot or to look over an animal".,Higher power for the shot is good advice but get your self a set of binoculars "to look over an animal".

Rem. 600 Mohawk in .308 w/ bull barrel if you can find one
Rem. 700 S.P.S. or B.D.L. in .308,with the right glass, all of the above have been reliable for ME in the past . I know im going to catch crap for this ,but IT WORKS FOR ME

New or used I always try to use the mags that where designed for the gun.Taurus or Beretta (with a little Dremel work) have always worked for me...
