    Korean 30.06 ammo

I've got several hunderd rounds of Korean M2 ball head stamped P8 75. Lot PS-2-162. It is corrosive. I have not shot any in my M1 and I'm not going to. I shot some in a Ruger M77 (old model with the tang safety) and had a full case head seperation. I was wearing safety glases and the lenses...

Have you ever used your Bug out Bag

I don't have a BOB but I do have a SAR pack, which seems to be more or less the same thing. The idea is to be ready to go at a moment's notice and be able to stay in the field for 48 hours. I've never tested it for 48 hours, but I think I could stay out for that long and still be able to...

Differences in the Win 1200 -1300

The first shotgun I ever owned was a Win. 1200. I bought it new in 1975 and still have it, I think its plenty durable. The reason I bought it instead of the Rem. 870 was because it was cheaper and it came with 3 WinChoke choke tubes. Cheaper was better then because I was making about...

    Never shot a wadcutter before

.38 wadcutters are great practice rounds. Low noise, low recoil, very accurate and cuts a nice round hole in the target. The velocity of factory wadcutters is low, so there is little or no leading. BTW, Noah was the guy on the Ark.

    .22lr ammo for 100y shooting

Its my understanding that standard velocity .22 ammo will also be less affected by wind drift because it doesn't make the transition from supersonic to subsonic. Since bullet drop is a constant it can be easily compensated for. Windage, being vairable, is more difficult to compensate for, so a...

Cheap Steel Case Wolf Ammo for Plinking with DPMS rifles

Just food for thought. CMP lists Fed and Win .223 ammo for $150/200. Not nearly as cheap as Wolf, but better quality.

Almost had to shoot a skunk last night.

CWL Throw some moth balls in the hole under your concrete slab, that will run them out without making them mad enuogh to spray. Its better if you do it at night when they're away, and then when they come back, their burrow smells like mothballs and the leave.

    Christmas O/U (Advice Please)

Browining Citori. Check out the Browing web site and look at the sporting models. The Citori is heavy which is a good thing for clays. The Beretta Silver Pigeon would be a good one too. I shot a round of skeet with one a couple of weeks ago and noticed its frame was shallower than the...

crisper trigger pull on a 1911?

I wouldn't let just anybody mess with the trigger on my 1911. I tried several options to get a good trigger on my Springfield 1911. I wound up sending it to Wilson Combat and now I have a 4# trigger pull with almost no take up in a perfectly reliable pistol. I agree with whoever said a...

Best Way To Store HD Shotgun?

Magizine loaded chamber empty. The thought of shotgun chamber loaded with the safety off gives me the creeps. To each their own , but I don't see any real advantage to keeping a shotgun chambered loaded. I do see a real disadvantage to keeping the chamber loaded and relying on the safety...
