Thinking about getting a Marlin 336

Been using a Marlin lever 30-30 for many, many years on white-tails. Though the 30-06 & 308 is a harder hitter. Beware that when Marlin was taken over by Remington that when they moved their 336/lines production plant their QC and product reliability took a big hit! Because most of their...

    Marlin Lever Rifles

So the main differences between the three are. The 336c is a carbine version with a walnut stock, with double barrel bands, and a fore end cap. The 336w is a walnut stained birch stock, with double barrel band and no fore end cap. (the one I saw also had a gold trigger? The 336a is a walnut...

    Marlin Lever Rifles

Can you all please help me here. What is the difference between a Marlin 336C a 336A, and a 336W. They are all lever action 30-30's but they all cost different. What makes one more expensive then the other. Is it really worth it to pay more for one over the other. If so why.

Why choose 1911 over a revolver?

Sergei Mosin I know what you are talking about what I meant was in a stressful situation if you do not have a good-grip on the handle or end up grappling for control then the safety might not engage. If that is the case then it will flop out of my hand anyways. Just one less thing to worry about.

Why choose 1911 over a revolver?

Personally I prefer simplicity. The fewer safeties to deal with the better. I could deal with a manual flip-switch safety but I don't care for the beaver-tang < is that what it's called > grip safety. So I don't care for 1911's for that one and only reason. If by chance under a stressful...

How do YOU hold an AR-15?

I don't own one yet as I'm still in the saving up money mode, but in my gathering info travels, it seems to me there are as may ways and techniques to hold to, and to support during fire, as there are manufacturers and mods to chose from. It seems to me you have to find one way that you feel...

Is Clackama Town Center posted as "No Guns"?

Signs or not. Past proof has shown these sicko clowns have no regard for the law let alone any no guns allowed signage. He had and used a stolen BR!!!! You think he gave a damn about any prohibitive signs or in braking any laws? NOT It is hard for me to analyze someone walking into or...

    G26 for daily carry?

I carry my G26 80% of the time, and when I do, 94% of that is in the pocket of my cargo shorts or pants and the other 6% is in a Cobra Skin IWB holster. I carry a 10r mag with a Pearce +2 grip extension and I have a backup 15r mag in my pocket. Though I'm thinking, I might start carrying my G30...

    Hog Rifle

If my 30-30 will take down a White Tail I'm guessing it will drop piggies too.

IYO, what calibers should have come out on top?

10mm The 10mm caliber has the widest range of ammo to chose from IMHO. It comes in several flavors from; simple weekend plunking paper punching too seriously-dangerous animal hunting.....though you may not find it all on your LGS shelves, you can either order it online or, reload it yourself.

    What To Look For

^^ Fred.... Thank You for the suggestions. I'll look over the inside/breach and examine down the barrel best I can looking for wear-marks, mars on screw-heads, crud, any rust and such.

The time has come for compromise...

Compromise is giving into the other sides demands because you can not defend your own. Compromise is an oversight that exposes your vulnerabilities. There is no Compromise to the 2A. Again….Cinemark had a “No Guns” sign on the door? Please tell me more about how that made everyone...

range won't let me keep my own brass!?

Meh................. As posted already just shoot somewhere else if you want to take your empties home. A couple friends belong to a private indoor/outdoor range and they have a sign that if it hits the floor it's theirs. So I only went once. They wanted me to join too but I said no thanks, I...
