    Garand Group (The)

Outstanding! I need to see if that arrangement is legal for the vintage sniper rifle matches at my range. The cat doesn't seem to be too impressed though.:)

Well, I ordered a service grade Tuesday. My wife says that I'm going to be miserable to live with the next 3 months...:D Warp - need details!

For those that have recently ordered from CMP - how long is the actual wait time compared to the stated 60-90 days?

Ron - Thanks for your valuable input. I'll make up my mind this weekend and get my order in Monday morning. The Service Grade may be the best value if those gauge numbers are really representative of what's being shipped now.

    Garand Group (The)

Thanks. That's the kind of information a "less than savvy" Garand buyer, like me, needs to read. This is the very reason I decided to get mine from the CMP rather than a private sale or gun show transaction. I just need to decide between the two "CMP Special" options. The new barrel may be the...

    Garand Group (The)

Great info in this thread! I'm also about ready to order a CMP Garand before they are all gone and had pretty much decided to go with the Special mainly due to it having a new Criterion barrel. I'm looking for a shooter that will be passed on to my son eventually, rather than a safe queen. But...

    best stock trigger

Springfield XD. The only gun that I personally have shot that has a better out of the box trigger than the XD series is the 1911 platform. Since you want to stay with .40 cal that pretty much rules out the 1911 series.

    IWB with the XD

I carry a 4" XD in a Gun Leather brand Summer Special clone at about 4:00 with an un-tucked polo or t-shirt as a cover garment. I've never been made AFIK. The full size XD isn't the easiest gun to conceal due to the long and bulky grip, but it can be done with the proper holster. The hard...

What is the last gun that you bought?

High Standard Crusader Compact. Just got it last week and took it to the range for the first time Sunday. Only 100 rounds so far, but it's 100% reliable and dead accurate.

    Lee Auto-Disk Powder Measure Problem

The documentation provided with the Lee press leaves something to be desired..........:banghead: I have the same problem as you. No mention of this in the instruction sheets provided with the press or the powder measure. I'm gonna have to order the riser also.

Who regularly carries the lowly .380? And in what package?

Kel-Tec P3AT loaded with Federal HydraShocks or Corbon Powerballs whenever I can't carry a larger gun.

Anyone use dry-lube in their mags?

Dupont Teflon Dry Lube works for me. I've been using it in my mags for several years. It can be purchased in an auto parts store for half of what the dry lube sprays from the gun or sporting goods stores cost. You Kel-Tec shooters might try this stuff in your mags if you are having problems...

We are losing this one (poll)

I just voted. We're still ahead, but just by a few votes.

    Texas CHL

Congratulations, oneshooter! Turnaround times have been improving in Austin lately. I recently received mine in 45 days, including a 7-10 day delay caused by a paperwork error on my part. Others have reported even quicker turnaround times. Let us know how it goes.
