    Pepper Spray--The Truth

Hi OCT, What do you think of the ASP series of products (palm/key/street defender), and what is the relative hotness (if that's the right word) of their OC formulation? Thanks!

    Glock 27 Gen 4

I have an older G27. I don't know how to tell its genre - I bought it in the mid 1990s. I have 2 issues with my G27, I get FTF about 1 in 4 rounds when I use it with G23 13 round mags. And, I can only load 8 rounds into the factory G27 mags (this happens with several different ammo types...

Utah Legislature 2-11-11 action on Non-resident Licenses

At first glance I thought that this would prevent many groups of people from getting a non-resident UT permit: * residents of a constitutional carry state such as AZ/AK - must obtain a home-state license (perhaps solely) to get a UT one * VT/WI residents - state doesn't issue permits - can't...

    TSA Notice(Civil Penalty) Advice?

You might want to contact an attorney about this. Some states that have discretionary CCW issuance will probably deny you for having ANY firearms law violation on your record. Think CA, MA, NY, etc.

Is there an optometrist in the house?

Yes, I think contacts would solve your problems with aberrations, etc. And don't worry about how thick they are - because they're so much closer to your eye you won't notice the thickness. They make contacts out to -20 diopters, so -8 isn't really that severe. With a high prescription like...

Is there an optometrist in the house?

I am not an optometrist, but I believe that's a pretty highly myopic prescription with a moderate astigmatism. Have you considered wearing contacts instead of glasses to avoid the aberrations? There are toric lenses available which may be able to correct your astigmatism. Ask your eye care...

McDonald et al v City of Chicago

I expect them to incorporate with the usual 5-4 vote, explaining as they did with Heller that any and all "reasonable" gun control is constitutional, but laws that amount to bans of weapons in common use are not. In other words, of the oft-described 20,000 gun laws out there, perhaps about 20...

Are recent events spuring those that have CCW permits, but don't carry to carry?

Probabilities are quoted in the form of 1:N (e.g. N=100 means a 1% chance), so where N is a lower number the chances of the event occurring are higher. The statistics are saying that one is much more likely to die from assault then from lightning.

How to choose a lawyer... or get one when you need one

The SAF has a legal referral service, NRA probably does too. These are likely to be attorneys who have self-listed with those organizations for self defense or gun rights cases.

    Opinions on Glock's likely successor

I'll agree with the "outside of box" camp, I also suspect we'll see future development putting more emphasis into less than lethal arms. Maybe a super-taser capable of addressing multiple assailants without tether distance limitations, maybe something that uses caseless ammunition similar to...

SCOTUS - 2 incorporation cases on the docket!

All but a few states have RTKBA in their state level constitutions. This makes winning incorporation of the second a lower priority than poking the reasonableness boundaries of Heller itself.

    Lawyers in CO?

Contact the SAF, they have a legal referral service... Depending on the circumstances of your case and its precedent value you may get lucky and get someone who will take it at low to no cost, but I would think that's fairly rare...don't be afraid to pay up to keep your rights!

cotton web sling - can you use this on an AR15?

Learning how to use a M14 green cotton web sling with my AR15...bear with me please while I ask a couple of dumb questions... Q1. the sling appears to be too long to use with my AR. I unclipped the hook from the rear swivel, and then put the back loop around my bicep and tightened it using the...

    Sig vs Glock

I do not like the Sig's decocker lever for a CCW gun. Too easy to have an ND during post incident stress if you forget to decock before reholstering.
