    1911: .45 Automatic vs 9x19mm

Do a history search and you WILL find that JMB did not invent the 1911 in 45 Automatic initially. He was asked to provide a gun that met the governments criteria of a 45 caliber requirement. He converted his invention to handle the 45 Automatic round. The original round was of 38 caliber which...

Kimber TLE II loss of accuracy

Ok, your reloads could be contributing to the issue, or you could also check the stability of your sights. Are you grouping still or are your groups a lot wider? If you are still grouping then check the sight alignment. If the groups are all over check tightness of sights, barrel bushing and...

    I'm now officially a Man. Bought a 1911.

I agree OP. I have a 10MM 1911. Love this gun. I will someday order a barrel in 40 S&W as well. Nice combination and styling.

What mods do you do to your Glock?

"Extra mags, holster, ammo" I agree with this prior statement. My G27 is a CCW gun and super reliable. No way I want to minimize that with any modification. If my life might depend on that weapon, then not even a hair on its chinny chin chin is going to be changed.

    .40/10mm vs .45 ACP/.45 Super

OP. The 45 Super is a superior round to both the 45 Automatic and the 10MM. Fit the cartridge to your need. For me, these semi-automatic rounds fill personal protection. I have more potent revolvers that take me over the 45 Automatic and 10MM territory - at or above 44 Magnum. I do appreciate...

    Safe to Use Denatured Alcohol?

I believe you can find Heet in the autoparts store. It is almost pure alcohol.

    38 Super Dress Up

Very nice fashion show OP. Now take that girl out for some fun.

    Has this been done before?

At first I thought the post was ridicules. Now I'm curious about the .357 necked down from a 10MM. Any ballistics on that from a 5" barrel.

    Would you accept the liability?

Just say NO. Like many others have already mentioned. I don't want someone else using my stuff without me or storing their stuff in my house. Period. Maybe if it were my brother, daughter, son, or wife..... Maybe depending on the person and not the relative position.

The 1911 is still being used!

I have one in 10MM and at least one in 45 Automatic. I do love my 1911's as tools and toys. I tend to carry my G27 mostly, but on occasion will haul around a full size 1911. I just love guns.

    Glock 23 or Glock 27?

I'm a G27 carrier. Primarily because I believe the 40 S&W is a better round in this weapon than the 9MM. I don't believe I'd be far behind with the 9MM, it is just my desire to carry this size gun and barrel with the 40 S&W. Many will say that the 9MM is vastly improved with newer bullet...

The Dan Wesson Heritage 1911: Initial thoughts and observations

I like the Dan Wesson 1911's. It is a good value. My DW Pointman 7 - 10MM is fun to shoot and is my favorite 1911. Their customer service is very good as well.

    New brass prep for AR10

Unless you are wanting precision ammo, just reload and shoot. I would be more concerned about non-centered primer holes. If your reloads are moderate and not upper range, it shouldn't be much of an issue. All of my brass, and I have many head-stamps, are all centered. Get some good brass even if...

    Your oldest automatic?

It would be a P38 made in 1943. The gun was bought by my father in-law in WWII and brought back home. It was willed to my wife and she gave it to me. It is still her gun really. Great semi-auto and a family keeper. It will of course go to one of my daughters since it belonged to their...

A couple questions about Kimber 1911s.

I have not owned a Kimber so I can state an opinion as to their quality. I do have other 1911s and will continue to promote Springfield Armory (Loaded version) as the warranty is life time. That gun is my workhorse and gets feed all kinds of loads and bullet types. It is trustworthy and never a...
