    California shotgun question

Correction to my first post. The gun must go through a CA FFL for DROS and wait the ten days. This and the above post are correct. Sec. 478.30 Out-of-State disposition of firearms by nonlicensees. No nonlicensee shall transfer, sell, trade, give, transport, or deliver any firearm to any...

    CA-Yolo Bypass Hunting

You can put in for a reservation or lotto. Right now its not so hot. No birds, very little shooting. Wouldn't exactly call it "hot" although you can have good days there. Last seasons average was 1.6 birds per hunter. You cannot just go out and hunt. Head over to the check station and talk to...

1016 yards Idaho Black Bear hunting...

Everyone has their own set of values and ethics. This guy was certain he could make the shot and he did. When I bowhunted I used to argue with gun hunters over my "unethical" style of hunting.

1016 yards Idaho Black Bear hunting...

While I would not do it, with conditions right, I could hit a stationary bear at 1k yds. I think a lot of negativity toward extended range shots on game stem from the fact most have never shot that far. Really, how many have a range available beyond 100-300 yds? And if you do, have you used it...

1016 yards Idaho Black Bear hunting...

While I would not take a shot that long, those guys obviously have the skill and equipment to do so. I find it less offensive than the guy who shoots from nothing but a bench at 100 yds but will try and hit game at 4-500 yds by "putting the crosshairs on the top of his back" in hopes the...

Ruger SP101 - To or not to bob the hammer

My reason to have the SP was a defensive carry gun. If I needed it, I wasn't going to be thumbing the hammer, it was gonna be pull and press the trigger. So bobbed it is. I also dropped in a 10lb hammer spring to lighten things up.

new paint job and barrel wrap. Lame?

The camo job looks good. The stuff hanging off the barrel will serve a function if you are hunkered down waiting for a buck to pass. Other than that, it will get snagged on stuff and get in the way if you need to drop to a knee quick for a shot.

I need a quality budget rimfire Scope?

I also have the Mueller 4.5-14 on my Marlin. Darn good scope for the money.

    Bring me down to reality

Nope. No way. Pass. Move along. Forget about it. Not necessary. Be logical... Why the heck do you need something like this...

My wife gave me the go ahead on a new rifle!

Probably tender from previous outing and the 300 can be a hammer. Try a PAST magnum recoil shield and/or a new recoil pad to help ease the abuse:p

The Ruger SP 101 .357 Mag

My little gem. Wolff springs, tritium front, hammer bobbed, cylinder bores chamfered, bead blasted, Hogues.

    Rate my shotgun!!

You asked so... Where is the light?? You ain't gonna see or hit s$%t with that cheesy NC red dot when bad guys come-a-knockin at 3 a.m. Shoot a ton and you will see that pistol grip stock sucks, too. Leave the saddle, ditch the stock, mount a light, get some low recoil 00 and/or slugs and get...
