8x57 or 35 Whelen for a North American Beater

,35 Whelen. 8x57 is still too close to 30/06 territory so it's almost pointless.

Why can't the Russian use Boxer primers/brass cases: cost?

It's just probably what they've been tooled up to produce since forever. They probably don't see any need in changing it...

    Windham weaponry ar 15

I agree with the things Warp said. Moreover, one should be aware that many aftermarket stocks are made only for the mil-spec diameter so they're not compatible.

    Windham weaponry ar 15

The chart is a helpful tool with guidelines. What actually matters is what one intends to do with the rifle. If you want to plink around and have fun with it, that Windham should be fine. Just go over it and make sure the gas key is properly staked, etc.

    .303 Brit keyholes

This is good to know, as I plan to reload for my 2-groove Enfield when I use up my remaining .303. I'll stick to flat base bullets...

Another Finn Mosin in the house

My 41 VKT also has a Tikkakoski tube. I'm still trying to figure out whether it has a cut down M-91 tube or a native M-39 barrel on it. I dont honestly know.

Those little carbines are something else.

Surplus ammo in Finn MN barrels.

You can shoot normal surplus in the bore of an M-39. That's the whole point of that rifle anyway.

    What is this 7.62x54r ammo?

    That's just Bulgarian light ball.

    mosin nagant questions

I concur on both points! Those Finnish rifles don't disappoint. They'll go anywhere from 250-400 in price, depending on many factors.
