    Yankee Hill Mite ?

Check out some comparison tests before you buy. The mite isn't the quietest on a pistol but does fairly well on a bolt rifle. You should be able to pickup a SilencerCo Sparrow or SWR Spectre for about $400. Walther P22 Test Ruger 10/22 Test Bolt Rifle Test

SBAR AR-15 and suppressor advice needed

Pistol lowers do not need be marked "pistol". You can use any stripped lower to build a pistol, it just can't have had a stock attached in the past. One option is to build a pistol first while you're waiting on the form 1. When you get the stamp back you can put the stock on. You would be...

    Suppressed, SBRed AR-15?

I stand corrected. AAC says there good to go. I had always been under the impression that it would still cause corrosion after a while even with stainless.

    Suppressed, SBRed AR-15?

Not mine but I believe it was standard 5.56, probably XM193. It's the unburnt powder and hot gasses causing the erosion. I don't think anyone would shoot corrosive ammo through a can. I doubt it would cause any difference in erosion but would most likely corrode the internals.

    Suppressed, SBRed AR-15?

What suppressor are you planning on using? A short barrel will cause more erosion to the baffles than a longer barrel. Some guys use a muzzle brake mount for quick attach suppressors to take the brunt of the erosion, it acts as a sacrificial baffle. These aren't my pictures but I believe...

    Suppressed, SBRed AR-15?

You should always loctite an adjustable gas block after you've found your sweet spot. They usually aren't designed to be adjusted on the fly and repeatability would be difficult. You could use one to find a setting that works both unsuppressed and suppressed. Check out the Noveske...

Which scenario would you start with

While that's an option you would most likely have a very heavy 22lr suppressor and a mediocre 5.56 suppressor. There are suppressors that work on multiple calibers but not usually shared between a pistol and rifle calibers. The OP will need to decide on his priorities (sound suppression...

Which scenario would you start with

The process takes some time so do your research before you buy. Some good info here. http://www.silencertalk.com/forum

Which scenario would you start with

Definitely the 22. A suppressed 223 is still loud. As long as you use subsonic 22lr ammo or the barrel is short enough to keep it subsonic the 22lr will be about as quiet as it gets. Have you heard a suppressed gun before? See if you can hear some demos before you buy. Also, don't cheap out on...
