I think that photo of the Bersa just convinced me to use my third and final purchase permit. What a nice one...

    Dumb question alert

Sorry if this is a dumb question. I can't find the answer using the Search feature, and I haven't figured it out yet. Why do most, if not all, .22 semi-autos (P22, Mosquito, Ruger Mk III, etc...) have a magazine capacity of only 10? My 9mm has a 15-round magazine, so why wouldn't...

New Year, New Gun, New Joy! (Stoeger Cougar 8000 9mm)

Is it just me, or do photos on this forum seem to never work right? http://cid-98d63db2f276b081.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/.Public/cougar.jpg?ct=photos

New Year, New Gun, New Joy! (Stoeger Cougar 8000 9mm)

Just want to say thanks to all for the good info on cleaning/lubing a Cougar. I bought mine (9mm) NIB a couple weeks ago and took it straight to the range (without cleaning first). Luckily, no problems at all. Totally perfect. By the way, if anyone is interested, here's a photo of mine with...

    Stoegar Cougar Pistols

You can find all the history of it in this Guns and Ammo article from a couple years ago: http://www.gunsandammomag.com/cs/Satellite/IMO_GA/Story_C/New+Life+For+An+Old+Cat?packedargs=pagenum%3D1%26showcommentpage%3Dfalse It's a great pistol - I like mine a lot.

S&W: what does "+P Only" mean?

I just noticed ArmedBear's response...I think he had it right...

S&W: what does "+P Only" mean?

I think what they mean is that of the 3 styles (Chief's Special, Centennial, and Bodyguard), the first 2 can use both .357 or .38spl+P, but the Bodyguard should only use .38spl+P (or .38spl).

    Need help with handgun storage

Thanks for the suggestions...I forgot about the dog part. I do have a dog so this whole question is probably moot anyway. I think I'll keep the semi-auto loaded, but without a chambered round, and just not tell the wife. She won't know anyway. She's not a shooter yet, but she's open to it so...

    Need help with handgun storage

I own two handguns. I like to think one of them would help me in a middle-of-the-night home invasion situation, but I've read Mas Ayoob's book so I'm not under any delusions about my ability to think straight at 4am. But regardless, here's my question. I have an electronic keypad safe...

    9mm vs .40

    "That's a bad comparison. It's more like 9mm = V6, 40 = V8, and 45 = small diesel with high torque and low hp." I'll buy that...maybe we can make the .22 the 4 cyl!

    9mm vs .40

I've always equated this 9mm vs .40 vs .45 argument to car engines. 4cyl, 6cyl, 8cyl. For some people a 4cyl is adequate and economical (9mm is cheap to shoot and will definitely kill someone). A V8 (.45) has tons of power but is costly to run. Some people consider the V6 (.40 cal) a perfect...

What Would You Choose? You Can Only Keep 2 Handguns You Own in 2 Different Calibers..

I'd keep my S&W 617 10-shot .22 and my Beretta Cougar. Oh wait, those are the only two guns I own...
