"So, is there somewhere I can go to register?"

My favorite California is when they buy an acre or so in the country in CO, WY or MT and then complain about how dangerous it is with the bears and such walking around. It never dawns on them to take RESPONSIBILTY for their safety.:banghead: Sheeple are pitiful. Bob.

So my anti sister moved to Colorado

My wife used to be very conservative, read Ayn Rand and all that. Then she took a job at Iowa State University. At first she sneered at all the silly liberals. Gradually though they are getting in her head and she sounds a little more liberal every year. I'm hoping she retires before they...

So my anti sister moved to Colorado

She's probably associating with the University crowd. We have it in Iowa too.....we call Story and Johnson counties where Iowa State and University of Iowa are located "Peoples' Republics". The only area in Iowa where more liberals congregate is the state capital, Des Moines. The rest of the...

    Who are you?

THR has a younger crowd..... than some of the forums. I'm 64 and still working so I can try to win the toy race. Still married to original wife(39 yrs.) with four grown children and no grandkids:( I am a professional investment manager and former investment banker. I started as a shooter...

Is converting a Blackhawk to a Bisley Blackhawk a job for a gunsmith?

Conversion to Bisley I did this in order to have a Bisley .41 Mag. It works but the grip and frame didn't mate up closely at all. Since it was a blue gun, I was looking at filing, sanding and reblue. My guess is it's a matter of luck whether your parts mate up well or not. The factory just...

    Win 231 Question

Bushmaster The blast from a big dose of 231 in .357 Magnum is most noticable by people next to you on the firing line. Ask a shooting buddy to stand there for you and tell what he experiences.;) Don't do it with(to) a really good buddy though:o Bob.

    No firearms at my workplace.

Keep quiet Whatever you decide to do, i.e. carry anyway, leave it in the car, etc. just don't EVER talk about it with ANYONE. This is really the key to having the best odds of staying out of trouble. Trust no one on this kind of question. My work totally bans firearms and even goes so far...

Picked up a S&W Hand Ejector in .32 Long

I just found S&W 32s also First I found a pristine .32 Regulation Police with a 4 1/4" bbl in its original box. Then last Friday a .32 Hand Ejector in nickel with its original box showed up at a local big-box sports store! I really don't remember seeing many of these but the Standard Catalog...

Does anyone make American Elk grips cheaped than Eagle?

Elk Grips.. are made by a guy in Colorado who posts on the S&W Forum as "executioner". I don't know if that relates to his day job or what? Anyway, he makes N-frame elks for sale and will also make to order if you want them fatter or thinner. I have bought from him and he is straight...

    RTFM - My Reloading Mistakes

I read MANUALS I started reloading about 17 years ago from a zero knowledge base. I bought all kinds of manuals and how-to books along with inexpensive RCBS and Lee equipment. I started with .45 ACP and gradually improved my skills. Buy a chronograph too. The little Chronys are cheap and...

    Win 231 Question

Winchester 231... is used by many people for light loads including me. It is fine for moderate loads in the .357 but do not try to go magnum with 231. The blast, fireball and pressures are nasty. You can load .44 Specials to 750-800 fps all day long with 231. Have fun and be safe. Bob.

Just picked up a .44 mag

.44 Magnum handloads I suggest you go with the Meister hardcast lead bullets or Oregon Trail/Laser-Cast are good too. I recommend Universal Clays as a clean-burning medium speed powder. Do not load your mild ammo TOO slow or you will get leading from hardcast bullets.....load for a velocity...

    5 most useful handgun powders

Five Powders I am primarily a handloader of handgun ammunition. The powders I use the most are: 1. Viht N310 2. Viht N350 3. Universal Clays 4. TiteGroup 5. Bullseye I use N310 to load .45 ACPs for IPSC and N350 for .38 Super loads. Universal is used as a clean replacement for...

Teen Injures Self with .22 Cartridge

Two threads? It seems we have broken the original story into two directions. One is can a cartridge cause damage if ignited outside a firearm? We have innumerable examples that it sure as heck can! The other facet is do we believe it happened the way numb n*tz said it did. Could an...
