blending hobbies, anybody else try it?

Loading blocks. Hold 20 rounds for taking to the loading table in cowboy action shooting. 5 rounds in each revolver, 10 in the lever action rifle. The leather cover holds the rounds in the wood block and snaps off. Embossed with my SASS alias. sorry, a little out of focus.

new to 9mm, what diameter plated and what weight

I load mostly Xtreme 115g RN plated bullets. I've shot a lot using 6g Unique, but recently have dropped back to closer to 5g, with no loss of accuracy or function. 6g is a pretty hot (max or near max) so be careful.

blending hobbies, anybody else try it?

I've combined woodworking and shooting sports--have built gun cases, totes, and, most recently a gun cart.

Do reloaders tend to have analagous hobbies?

I am a woodworker at heart--early American furniture reproductions, grandfather clocks, desks, etc. But I am fascinated by all things mechanical and electrical and will build/repair just about anything I need. Just spent a few years restoring a bunch of old cub cadet garden tractors. Ran out of...

    Need a soft .38 load...

    I load 2.7g of 700x under a 125g soft lead bullet. That's my "cowboy action" load. It's like shooting a .22.

US abandoned plan to track cars near gun shows

Hell, the article says they are already using license plate cameras on utility poles all over the place. The can put one at the entrance to a gun store, or a gun club, or a strip club, or wherever. Pretty soon, a data base of your activities will be well established in the NSA's...

One thing about the pistol powder shortage...

I wasn't thrilled with 800x in 9mm either, but found it works great in .44mag. I still have a few lbs...

    RedDot powder question

I use 5.5g Red Dot under a 240g plated RNFP in .44mag brass for a light plinking load. It's really .44spl load data. I just don't have any .44spl brass. It's fun to shoot out of me super blackhawk .44mag.

New Member? Introduce yourself here (just intros, questions get answered elsewhere)

New member here, from central VA. Began shooting and reloading back in the 80's, fell dormant (kids, job, boat, etc.) from about 1990-2014. Just getting back into the habit. Enjoying this new-fangled thing invented since I was last an active shooter/reloader--the internet.

How much does it cost you for a year at your range

$350/year for a large (300 acre) rural outdoor facility with many ranges up to 500yds. Also belong to a very nice three range indoor facility (max 25yd) for $455 per year. Have a 50yd range set up at home...

Cop looks at loaded gun, shoots finger off.

Many years ago, (like 35) when I first started shooting, I took a friend/co worker to the range one day. He brought his family's 22LR revolver in a leather holster. I told him the day before that all weapons had to be unloaded until we got to the range and were ready to shoot. He assured me no...

    Missouri Bullet order

I've ordered bullets from Missouri Bullet Co. four or five times. Just discovered this thread. Could someone PM me the code, please? Thanks!

Question for Dillon SDB 38/357 owners

Also using the SD for .38 and .357. Do you have the blue spacer on your tool head? My adjustment range accommodates both cartridges. Just bought another tool head which I will use next time to reduce time spent adjusting...

    Lee trimmer issue

I use the Lee trimmer--but I do it differently--I chuck the trimmer in the drill and hold the shell holder and case in my hand. With my hand wrapped around the case, it will stay in the holder better, and with this approach, the shell holder only serves as a stop for the depth of cut.
