    Which Ruger No. 1?

    My vote would be for .405 Winchester or the .45-70. From their you can go smokeless and FMJ or blackpowder and cast. I have a stainless/laminate in .45-70. 405gr and cast bullets and 50gr of Varget is a pretty stiff load to shoulder....
