I definitely agree w/sentiments that they USED to be worth the money...when they were around a grand. I put them in the league of Smith/Wesson's 1911's which are very well built pistols (in my humble opinion), but just can't get over that external extractor, so the DW was always a better option...
XD45 Compact because I can use the stubby flush-fitting magazine and get 10+1 and carry an extra, larger-cap magazine for 13+1. Also because it has eaten every single type/brand of .45ACP I've put through her like candy...dead reliability. Also have TruGlo TFO's and Crimson Trace laser grips on her.
Voted for the Wilson, but do agree with the poster above in that it's pretty overpriced. I'd also give Fusion a look for a semi-custom....great build quality, performance and accuracy. (I've owned a couple Wilsons and Les Bears in the past)
I'd have absolutely no remorse having just bought an XD45 Compact. The XDm 45 isn't going to have the versatility of the 2 different size magazines/grips (no official info released by SA on that...just my very strong hunch).
The XD45c is in a class by itself and even though I own an XDm...
Springfield DID indeed announce (at this year's SHOT show) that the XDm45 is in the works and coming out this year. There has been no official release date though.
You can read more about the info here:

DW just took the entire reason why they were such a great deal and threw it straight out the window...putting them at a new price point where frankly, they're not the best deal in town for the money anymore. Prior to the price-hike, it was always my opinion that they were THE best deal to be had...
One of my favorite pistols in my stable. I even own one of the "newer" XDm models...and still like the XD45 Compact better. The fact that you can change the grip size w/2 different sized magazines is just an awesome thing.
I have fed it many, many different size/types of ammunition....from...
I also just picked up an Italian 92FS Inox this week and it's got the same markings noted by the poster just above me....and DAMN, I love this pistol....definitely as much as my revered 1911's and I was very surprised at how accurate it is.
I absolutely LOVE mine. Love the design, looks, heritage of what the 92FS is. I have an Italian-made Inox (there are also US-made Inox models) and it is supremely accurate and reliable...almost amazingly so.
I agree with the sentiments above...I was a newbie...saw all the ads, LITERALLY was talked into it by the store owner, who of course, was a Kimber dealer...and CANCELLED my original order for a Dan Wesson (which the store owner scoffed at...haha). Looks like I was the idiot because I ended up...
Joshua, To answer your question (somewhat) quickly...Let me preface by saying that my Kimber (Pro CDP II) was a very accurate pistol....But when I first got it, I experienced the slide locking back with rounds still in the magazine. This was my 1st 1911 and was JUST learning about them, etc...so...
