It's been a while since I've posted 'round these parts, but I am happy to say the 642 is being carried and shot as much as ever. Some of the other gear changes from time to time, and there are a few new guns in the rotation, but none of them have replaced the 642.

sc1911cwp - I know this sounds a little odd, but try a 148 gr. WC load in that gun. While I don't recommend them for social work, I have found them to be EXTREMELY accurate in the x42 guns and also very light on recoil. Generally, when I introduce someone to the snub, that's the load I start...

Buy a used Ruger or Smith, if you can find it. I do have a Rossi 461 that has never given me any problems, but you'll notice the quality difference, if only in the triggers.

If Model 64 shooters are allowed to play, here's my 4" HB much-carried, much-shot M64. Aside from being a very reliable carry gun, it's also won me more than a few IDPA matches.

Update: After taking the sideplate off, it looks like the cylinder stop spring is bent out of shape. It seems that sometimes when you pull the trigger the cylinder stop simply won't go down, presumably because the spring isn't compressing correctly. I've ordered a new one and it'll be here by...

Christmas came early this year - the wife gave me a 19-4 as an early Christmas/Birthday present. I'd seen the gun in a pawn shop a few months back and showed a lot of interest in it, so she took it into her head to get it for me. All in all I gotta say that's pretty neat. :) Pictures to follow...
