Great report. I've been considering the 647 when it comes out, but the 648 might be a better choice-better ammo selection and availability.

Those Heritage grips look just like in the Eagle website photo. I must have gotten a bad pair. The grips in the top pic are Ahrends Pakka Wood. I got them a while back from pickagrip.com They are perfect on a short barrel n-frame. Just enough for your little finger to hold on.

Those grips look great. You must have refinished them, I had a set on a m29 that didn't look nearly as good. Here are my favorite non-factory N-frame grips

I bought a Pointman Major last year, before I knew the Patriot was coming out. I love the Major, but I wish I'd known about the Patriot. Looks like a great gun, I hope you'll give us a range report. Dan Wesson is making some really nice semis, at really nice prices.
