The VZ-58s are very neat rifles indeed. Exceptionally light. Well built, sturdy, and reliable. The draw backs I see to them are limited aftermarket, it's rough mounting magnified optics on them, and even though they share a similar look to the AK style rifles, they share no parts with them...

How bout posting some example pictures. If they're SAO pistols then it makes sense. If they're DA/SA then they probably just didn't decock after clearing the weapon.

My brother put an ace fixed stock with appropriate adapter on his vz-58 and he's running an eotech. the cheek weld on that is high enough to work with sights like the eotech and yours. However seeing through the iron sights is pretty rough with a higher cheek weld.

I can't help but modify everything I own, so it doesn't matter what i'm carrying, it's 'custom.' However my main carry piece is a 1911 commander that i've definitely put a lot of work in to. But, it's the gun I shoot the best, and that's why I carry it.

I carry a commander sized 1911 almost every day. Sometimes I'll carry a 3" model instead, but I really prefer the commander. I got a holster from UBG and it's been a really nice holster for both comfort and concealability.
