I have a 2007 manufactured bought in 2008 and the extractor has .004 play all the way down from top of the slide down it has no play in the direction of extraction. I hope this answers your question. The weapon is new in the box never fired.

This is probably not what you want to hear but the .380 is better than not having anything and could antagonize an attacker. Up close which is too close it may be fine. I would get a large caliber weapon .40 or larger. Have a nice day and a wonderful week.

You asked for opinions and everyone has one. Mine is I like the 40 over the 9mm. I prefer the heavier bullets to the lighter ones. Pick the caliber and handgun that you can control the best and that is confortable for you to shoot. Have a nice day and a wondrful week.
