I have 1 Frost knife when the blade literally came off of the handle. The blade is perfectly fine as far as i can tell though. Gonna carve a handle for it and maybe get a custom sheath made.

I wouldn't want to put to many magnets in a pump or semi-auto, but a single shot or SXS would probably work well with them.

I have a quick question about my Mossberg 500. I've actually never thought about it till now and can't seem to find an answer. When i depress the "Action Release control" on the left of the receiver, and pull the slide back, is another shell supposed to come out of the magazine?

I keep mine in with standard capacity with 18.5 barrel as well for HD. mostly because I don't think any engagement in the tight confines of my home would last more than 2-3 rounds of buckshot. Unless their are Zombies involved. XD

I don't know about 3" shells(never really had the chance :(], but I have that problem with any size shell. I've been told,doesn't mean I believe it mind you, that I racked the shotgun to fast. although the way I can go through 200 shells I'm sometimes inclined to believe the people who told me. :)
