    John Wesley Hardin's Backup Gun

Some fanatic Elvis collector will scoop it up, it is totally Elvis..over the top bad taste and excess. He had a great voice though.

Has any one ordered parts here?

They are good for original Colt's parts, I got some grips and screws for an original '49 Pocket.

Using #10 CCI, still need to pinch them a bit.

    Replica Arms 1848 Baby Dragoon

I have an ASM Baby Dragoon and it was produced 9 years after the gun in question. It is stamped S.Marco on the left side of the frame where the Colt's Patent would be if it were original (I wish). It has Black Powder Only and Made in Italy on the left side of the barrel with no markings on the...

    Newbie on black powder

For the 1851 Navy you should use a .375" round ball of soft lead, Triple 7 is about 15% more powerful than black powder of the same volume. There is some debate about using a lube on top of the ball to prevent chain-fire, I do others claim it is not required.

    pick up 2 today

It looks like an original made in 1860, the patina and shrunken grips look correct. How is the bore/rifling on it?

    Aquarium tubing for caps

Why don't they stamp the caps in steel so that the hammer can eject the spent cap as it is driven back by the main charge.

1858 Remington .44 cal vs 1851 colt Navy .36 cal

I have an 1862 Pocket Police that shoots about 7 inches left and 7 inches high, I try to remember that when shooting it. Only recently have I been able to tell if it is the gun or me that is out of wack. I have been shooting for 5 years and have only lately been able to group with any handgun...

    Start of expensive career

The 1860's with their creeping loading lever is a must have gun, then you need an 1862 Police in .36 cal then all three models of the Dragoon.

    Betting 1858 Remington cattlemen's carbine?

The conversion may go a long way to reduce the face full of particles that you get from these things.

    .36 Navy VS .44 Army - Video

I wish I could blow up water jugs........I live under a somewhat repressive Regime ie: Canada and black powder handguns of modern manufacture are considered Restricted weapons so can only be shot at approved ranges under close supervision and paper targets.

Crawdad1...I am using 35 grns. Goex 3F and a 1/8 inch Nitro card(Wad) and a .454" ball. This combination brings the ball flush with the cylinder face, seems to work well.
