I picked up a Dan Wesson 44Mag with 6"bbl in SS. Since I reload I can do the 44spl load or some pain the the hand 44Mag rounds. I also have a Marlin 1894 in 44Mag that is a fun gun to go with the DW. 44Mag is a very versital round to reload for. Find yourself a good used one and have some fun.

Moot Point I just read thru the whole thread and it seems that the OP went with a 270. I have a couple of lever actions and I have some bolt actions as well. I once owned a 243 T/C Encore, that's my only experience with that caliber. I do love the 30-30 though.
