Results of gun care product evaluation

Re: Board #3 How is board #3 doing? Have you decorated it for the season with a string of Christmas lights? Is Mrs. DIY_Guy still pleased to have it in the dining room? I did buy a can of WD Specialist after this test to use as a general purpose rust inhibitor. A little harder to find this...

    Scope for Marlin Model 25 - 22lr

Here is another vote for the Simmons 22 MAG with AO. Decent rimfire scope for the money. I have a couple of them. The next step up cost wise is the Muller APV, also have a couple of those. I think you would be happy with either one

    Stevens 325 C

Palehorseman, can you please post a closeup picture of the left side of the receiver where the sight is mounted? Thanks

    Stevens or Maverick?

I would get the Maverick. 20 years from now when you need a part it will be easy to get. With the Stevens, parts are hard to come buy now, let alone in 20 years.

    JB Weld for Bedding

Have bedded several rifles with JB Weld, Johnson's Paste Wax, and Silly Putty to contain the JB Weld. Works great.

    Spotting Scope- Expensive Worth It?

When you get to 200 yards and up with small diameter bullets is where better optics comes into play. With poor quality optics you will have to look for awhile to find the hole in the paper. In some conditions you may not see the hole at all. Light brightness, clouds, shadows, mirage, etc all...

    Lee press broken

While we are waiting for hostjunkies to show us his new toy, here are pictures of mine. Look familiar? Its hostjunkies old press with new parts. I bought it from him so that I can get my brother in law and nephew started on this hobby. Over the past few years I have been picking up a thing or...

How did you lap the barrel?

    Loading for correct seal

Without data that describes the accuracy you are getting as well as what accuracy you want or find acceptable it is pretty hard to comment I would rather have a barrel that shot lights out for 3000 rounds than one that shot crappy, but lasted forever because I loaded it to prevent wear
