    QuickLoad software

Because it's true. Quickload is a nice gimmick for a "what if" simulation but nothing more.

    QuickLoad software

I've been mulling over buying Quickload for a long time, finally got it a couple weeks ago. First impression, I feel like it's price of $150 should be about $39.95. You get no free data updates, and even if you willing to buy a data update there is no documentation like a changelog on the...

I really don't want to spend $60 on cleaning rods

Just buy the Tiptons, they're worth the money.

    243 optimization in short barrel

Seems like your worrying way too much about having a 20" barrel. My M77 is a lightweight model with a 20" barrel. Every load I've chronographed was within 100 fps of published data, I use Sierra and their test barrel was 22".

    Thinking about lead 45acp

231/HP-38 work well with lead, as does N320. I've been buying Dardas bullets, good stuff.

A little freaked out at the range today.

I can see walking away because you just don't want to deal with stupid people at the moment. I don't get walking away because it's "not my problem", "I'm afraid", or "what if".

A little freaked out at the range today.

I would of said something. It would of involved a lot of cussing and laughing.

    45 cal convertable

I bought a convertible flattop Blackhawk a while ago with the intent of using the 45 acp cylinder in the same way. It's still in the box, I've never use it. Low end 45 Colt rounds are really soft. I normally don't load soft but when I have my favorite was 6.5gr of N320 with a 250gr LRNFP...

reloading for lead vs. fmj ammo

Ugghhhh Craig I know you want to be like Elmer and everything but dude take a look at a reloading manual once and a while. Lead bullet loading data is generally less than their same weight and shape jacketed counterparts. Correct.

reloading for lead vs. fmj ammo

Yes they are loaded differently. Load data for lead will be lower than jacketed.
