    Bulldog 44 Spl

I tried unsuccessfully to upload a pic of my Bulldog. It has the barrel length of the top pistol and the similar hammer of the lower pistol. Mine is SS with rubber grips. Thank you for the info. I will limit her shooting to 180gr max. Yeah, I remember Son of Sam.

    Bulldog 44 Spl

Looking for info from those who own a Charter Arms Bulldog 44 Spl. My father-in-law just gave my wife his Bulldog. It has a 3 in barrel and the push rod for empty casings is exposed not enclosed. Also it has a (not sure what to call it) concealed hammer? It is a double action but she can't pull...

Identity and Date of Manufacture of S&W Revolvers

Thank you Radagast I wasn't sure what I was seeing on top of the barrel until I got your reply. It does appear the address has been shortened and the front sight sits right on top of it. Behind the site are the letters ELD MASS U.S.A. My dad referred to this pistol as his "summer" gun as he...

    Iver Johnson Arms

Thank you MAKster Fantastic article. My dad never mentioned these pistols or why he used a Spanish 38 Spl as his police, revolver either. Thanks to people like you on this venue, I am getting some background on these old weapons. It makes them more personable. Thank you very much!

    Iver Johnson Arms

Thanks for the replies. On further review and a magnifying glass, on the butt of the smaller pistol (possibly 32 cal.) there are letters and dates: I think they read- AT June 1896 Aug 28938 and underneath that it reads Pats Pending It's all really scratched up. I don't understand the two...

Identity and Date of Manufacture of S&W Revolvers

Help in Identity of S&W 38 Revolver Hopefully the pictures are view-able. This pistol has a two inch barrel with rounded grips. It is a top break 5 shot. The number on the cylinder is 302291, I think. The number on the grip of the frame is L.46. Any info would be appreciated. Thank you.

    Iver Johnson Arms

If the picture is attached properly, I would like any information regarding the two pistols shown. The lower pistol will take a SW 38 bullet but I don't know the actual caliber. The only marking except for Iver Johnson Arms on the barrel is the number 7801 on the trigger guard. The upper pistol...

    Looking for a Mfg date

While watching R.Lee Ermey on TV showing the history of shotguns, I thought of my Ithaca Model 37, patent no.1849982. It has number 271295 stamped on the barrel. My dad gave it to me when I passed the 7th grade. That was in 1957. Does anyone know how to trace the manufacture date of this...

    Baby Desert Eagle 9mm?

Considering a Baby Desert Eagle, 9mm for inexpensive range shooting. Any pros or cons?

    Which 9mm?

Finally got to the store and held several 9mm. Turns out the Taurus 24/7 I had read so many nice things about, didn't fit my hand properly. The trigger guard rubbed too hard against my finger. The Glock 17 had the best hand fit and easiest sighting alignment when aiming but the Beretta 92 was...

Pair of S&W's: Need Mfr. Dates

Looking for Mfr Dates I'm looking for information on a S&W snub nosed 38, top break. On the palm side of the butt is stamped what appears to be an "L." 46. On the top side, when open, of the cylinder what appears to the number 365502 but it is faded. The front fixed sight partially...

    Which 9mm?

I've fired the Glock and CZ but not felt really comfortable with them. For the "other" category, has anyone fired the Taurus 24/7 9mm. A test result article lauded it's attributes yet I see no recommendations posted from real shooters. Is that a clue?

    Searching for Pistol Manufacturer

Spanish TAC 38 spl Thanks for all the information to help in my manufacturer search. It basically appears very likely to be a 1905 version made by the Orbea brothers of Eibar, according to some line drawings.
