Not much recoil with a .22 so theres a much less chance you have of flinching and much less beating your arm takes over time. So you can reproduce tight groups over and over. Trying to shoot .30-06 shots over and over will give you good punishment and make it harder to keep groups tight. Plus...

We both have Muellers 8.5-25x44. Really nice scopes. They aren't the $300 buckmasters I wantted to get But they are just as clear as them for the price that is. Total of $171 and some pennys.

O and those targets do look really cool. Maybe one day Ill get those groups. Your kind of like superman at 100 yards. Unless that is a .22 then you stink.
