Ohio is weird. Car carry is illegal in Ohio without a permit. When you carry in a car it has to be open, in a holster or on a person (but must open carry). But I don't see anything on rifles.

Probably not. At 20', 30' maybe less so. The longest hallway in my house from the kitchen to the livingroom is over 50'. For that range the .22 wins over birdshot every time.

Bad guys don't ussually pick out the 6'5" teenager as a target. They will move on to someone smaller. Don't think that this makes you not a target, you still are, just not first on the list.
