    Door to door salesmen

I alternate my time between a private no soliciting neighborhood and a place out in the country off by itself. I have not had a legitimate sales caller in about five years. When we did get one I would normally interrupt their pitch and try to sell them personal and household items that we were...

    Moving to NY/MA/CA etc. threads...

Yeah and don't forget about MD and IL either. Now that you think about it MI isn't so hot with their mandatory registration. Or maybe the mods could sticky these in the legal forum instead of rants? http://www.opencarry.org/ http://www.concealcarry.org/ http://www.nraila.org/GunLaws/

    Legal question regarding Enblocs

Ohio is weird. Car carry is illegal in Ohio without a permit. When you carry in a car it has to be open, in a holster or on a person (but must open carry). But I don't see anything on rifles.

    Legal question regarding Enblocs

Which state are you in? There is no federal law.

Venezula - First Your Guns, Then Your Freedom

I saw this posted on another unnamed website and found it interesting: 2006: 2007: Quote: 2008: 2009: Now 2010:

what to do with my guns when I'm gone

If you have high dollar stuff the NRA museum might take them. If you have military items there are a lot of military museums that might be interested.

Do you REALLY clear the chamber @ every fence crossing / gate opening??

I do not. If the fence collapsed or I fell off it something while I was crossing it there could be a dangerous situation. I don't know if that has ever happened but imagine it has.

First gun, Split between ruger 10/22 and...something else

If I were to use bird shot I would use #2 lead, magnums. They pack quite a wallop. But I would only use that if I could find nothing better.

    From the 1911 Boyscout Manual

In truth all quotes are out of context of the time. But certainly this quote is telling: The manual, while addressing various wars; completely ignores the quite recent US Army genocide campaign in the Phillipines less than a decade previous. In fact the treatment of all of the wars is quite...

First gun, Split between ruger 10/22 and...something else

Probably not. At 20', 30' maybe less so. The longest hallway in my house from the kitchen to the livingroom is over 50'. For that range the .22 wins over birdshot every time.

    From the 1911 Boyscout Manual

In 1910 Boy Scouts were organized under Colin Livingstone into a national organization. Whereupon a dramatic change in doctrine took place.

50-round drum and stock for Ruger 10/22

Anyone who wants to get rid of their jamming 10/22 magazines please send them my way. I will pay shipping and throw in $2 a mag. I accept all kinds unless the lips are cracked. Strangely enough I find that a drop or two of oil in the right spot makes 90% of them function flawlessly.

First gun, Split between ruger 10/22 and...something else

Some interesting advice in this thread. I am not sure I would follow the stuff about birdshot, to each his own. But a good first long gun for HD would be a 20 GA, it is one of the most useful guns on earth. A .22 rifle makes a great second long gun. I can't say enough about the Ruger 10/22 they...

    Happened to me today...

Bad guys don't ussually pick out the 6'5" teenager as a target. They will move on to someone smaller. Don't think that this makes you not a target, you still are, just not first on the list.
