    It gets real in Fairfax County, Virginia.

    Signs went up yesterday in Folly Lick Stream Valley Park in my neighborhood near Herndon, Virginia. Just like that, I'm a potential law breaker if I take a walk in the park where, 4 years ago, MS13 murdered someone with a machete. No exception for CCP. Photo attached.

    After some great discussion in the black powder forum, it was suggested I post here. This is a family heirloom passed down to me. Bore measures .35 with my calipers. The mold came with. What can you tell us about it? Thanks![/IMG]

    Thanks for the info. My Grandfather died in 1988. I am 60 now, so I would like to consolidate good information on this gun for my kids.

    You know, I do have a mold. I just never considered it was for this gun. I'll get it out and check. Thanks for the memory jog!

    This has been in my family for well over a hundred years. It appears that it used to be a flint lock that was converted to percussion. The set and trigger work as intended. The barrel ( iron hexagonal) is clear and my micrometer measures .35. What size patched ball would that translate to?
