    .22 LR in north Alabama

Not sure if his is the right place but Academy Sports in Huntsville/Madison on hwy 72 has quite a bit of ammo. They put .22LR, .223, and 5.56 behind the customer service counter. Didn't. Really look at the brands but prices were around $3 a box. They had quite a bit I don't think people are...

Finished Build / Big Thumbs Up To Palmetto State Armory (PSA)

I think rack buyers help the builders as so much gets turned out so fast, you get over stock and blems. Then the builders get to reap the benefits.

    Mauser VS Mosin Nagant

mauser for custom builds the action is a tank. Mosin for shooting and eventually will go up as the sks and everything else has. As stated above depends on use.

    Wood stock or not

Both have their places to me. Too many variables for me to answer. It would be rifle specific as well as use specific.

    Thoughts on pistol caliber carbines?

I agree a setup on an ar platform could be best bang for buck but goes outside the op's want. Don't. Blame him we want what we want.

    I want a 10 shot bolt .308

I want to say I saw a bolt set up 308 for the ar family platform. It looked somewhat like those 50 bolt upper kits. I didn't. Read into it and maynot be what you are looking for and no telling the price.

    Considering a 1989 Ruger 10/22

Older models have less/no plastic and the trigger internals are not mim parts.

    Rossi M92 38/357

I maybe wrong but wouldn't. A corbon powrball help with length when looking at hollow points. Also I had a 35 rem lever and it basically had fmj in the tube with no issue as I was using Buffalo Bore heavy rounds. They have a harder primer though I think.

Can Firearms be Fired in Space

I don't. Know all the math but if a pistol can fire under water, then I would assume it would fire in space. Then distance would be opposite of course as water is heavy resistance and space is less. The moon has like a 6th or a 3rd the gravity of Earth so the bullet would still drop. Everything...

Two barrels fits the same old bolt rifle. How hard to switch?

When in doubt go with a pro. Look up the old Dan Wesson set, it was a revolver with 3 barrels all same caliber but different lengths. Those were not as easy to switch as advertised. Always when changing barrels check head space. Trust but verify always as Murphy's law is working against you...

    Thoughts on pistol caliber carbines?

I worked in a gun/pawn shop for years as an apprentice to the smith (who worked at King's) and have played with just about all types of arms. Each pistol carbine has it's own pros and cons. Kel-Tec- I owned one in 9mm with Glock mags. It shot fine and never had any problems with...

Bitten by the AR bug Again

Finally got to shoot it and nothing but good to say. Didn't shoot far of maybe 50 yards at coke cans which works for me, on my land longest shot for deer which here they aren't very big is pushing 75. It did as described great with 55 and 62 grains. Did have to push the bolt forward once with my...
