Are there any 22s for CC?

Fouled bore- Both the Bobcat series and Taurus PT22 lookalikes of the Bobcat ( they look alike, but are mechanically different ) have slides that can be racked. But they're really stiff and take an extra effort to do so.

Are there any 22s for CC?

Taurus PT22 Poly with CCI Minimags. Haven't had a single failure with that combination. I don't have the earlier all metal version, the poly is supposed to be better. Blazers and Thunderbolts work very nicely with mine. Tiny, light, fits right in the pocket. A .22 isn't the best choice, but...

    Smith & Wesson model 15's

As long as the mechanicals are working, yes. I got a Model 15 trade in from the Shoot Straight people at the Orlando gun show earlier this year - but not a scratched up example. Wound up at just under $300, There were some scratched up ones that were about $250. If they're starting to knock...

A couple of Uberti 45 Colt questions...

As far as looking for ammo, you can try ammoseek or wikiarms. Myself, I reload for my Uberti Chisolm (all steel version of the Cattleman ). 30 grains of Goex 3F under a 250 grain LRNFP. Lots of smoke. It's a tightly made piece - very little powder residue gets into its inner workings. I did...

Seems the folks in upstate NY are armed

Most people who are not from New York state or the nearby region ( the northeast ) don't really disassociate the city from the state. They often don't know that the state has rural areas that vote red, and are "full stop" ( as Vince Vaughn puts it ) supporters of 2A rights. Kind of like the...

    45 colt powder (that's available )

Agree with jbar - I run 30 grains of Goex 3f under a 250 grain LRNFP. Lots of smoke and giggles when shooting that out of my Uberti Chisolm. Never tried Triple Seven though.

What departmental trade in wheel guns are out there now?

I can second that, golden. I picked up a decent model 15 from Shoot Straight for just under $300 back in January. They seem to have a regular supply of them, as well as the semiautos.

    9mm is too snappy.

That's why I like em, JDR.

    9mm is too snappy.

Have you tried subsonic 147's? I find them to be less "snappy."

Turkish Guns... Am I Going Down the Wrong Path??

VThillman - that's about right. They're decent guns, but they're shooters, not collectors that hold a resale value. It remains to be seen if they'll be perceived as anything more than that as they make their way on the market.

Turkish Guns... Am I Going Down the Wrong Path??

The Turkish guns are a good value - I have a TP9. It's a good piece, but my P07 is better for me. I don't know if it's the same situation for the CZ clones, but the TP9 has very little value as a trade in. It may get a bit more through a private sale, but I don't think the Turkish guns hold a...

Should Mandatory Skills Training Be Part of the Curriculum of Receiving a CWP?

Not mandatory, but strongly recommended. Perhaps issuing agencies could provide sources where people could learn to improve their skills when they receive their permits - books, trainers, and Jerry Miculek videos on YouTube......

    Affordable, pocketable 9mm?

I have tried a Nano, and didn't like it. Didn't like the trigger, the ergonomics, and the way it kicked in my hands. But that's just me - I prefer a heavier gun with a lower pressure round - a slower, heavier bullet. I might have been more confortable with a Nano combined with a subsonic 147...

    retroactive charges

That's a very good point, Frank. The tricky part about internet postings though, would be what constitutes something that is genuine, as opposed to what is merely "hearsay", I suppose. But enough bread crumbs could lead to something more. BTW (!) Considering LemmyCaution's thoughts on...
