    Best strong-side OWB option for a 5" 1911?

+1 on the Beltman. They kick some major butt:D

I'm being tempted by the 1911....

If you Dan Wesson is the best production model I've seen. No MIM, tight slide to frame fit, and utterly reliable. I have 1000 rounds through mine now. The trigger needs some work to get to my specs, but other than that, wow. They come in right under $1000, but I've seen some at the gunshow for...

    extra power Wolff springs for 4" 1911 (i have a few ?)

I like to steer clear of +P in 45, especially in an alloy frame 1911. I didn't even want 45 in my 4", so I got it in 9mm. The aluminum frame takes enough of a beating in 45 without those hot loads. If you just want the +P loads for defense, use the XP to fire enough rounds to ensure reliability...

I'm being tempted by the 1911....

My Glock was the first gun that I ever felt great about selling. My 1911's would be like selling a vital organ. I just got done cleaning them.....looks up and thinks, "Good Times."

I'm being tempted by the 1911....

Have you rented a 1911 to see if it's really what you want? Its a lot of coin to find out you don't like it.

    Best strong-side OWB option for a 5" 1911?

I like my Galco Concealable. Fits like a glove and holds the butt of the gun tight against the body. Very comortable holster.

    A 1911 changed my mind

I think people should spend their money on the guns they like. I get the best for the amount of money I can spend. If I made more money, I would sure have the higher end stuff. I could care less what anyone would say about it. That is a nice Wilson. Shoot it like you stole it!!!

    best "smallest" 1911 for ccw?

Put some thin grips on and the profile will be as thin as the slide itself. Great for carry.

I'm being tempted by the 1911....

Don't shoot a 1911. It just may ruin you for all the other wonderful platforms out there. I don't like to shoot anything else. 1911+100 rounds = 1 ragged hole. There are a lot of other guns I have bought, loved, and just had to sell because they were not 1911's.

    1911's overrated?

Hey dit! Are you letting that Carolina wisdom show through again? I hope you have a mild winter this year. My 1911's are still ALL running 100% after thousands of rounds.

    1911's overrated?

I simply love the 1911 design. It is the be all, end all of handguns for me. I have had many others: CZ, Glock, revolvers, Baretta, Ruger, S&W, Kel-Tec, Hi Point, HK, Sig. I shoot better with a 1911 and have no need for anything else. Overrated/Outdated? If it is, then I'll continue to shoot...

    Kimber Quality

I have a couple of great Kimbers. My Dan Wesson is good, but my Kimbers outshoot it. They have been 100% reliable for over 4000 rounds.

Opinions Wanted DW Valor vs. Wilson CQB

The tolerances (Slide to frame)of my Dan Wesson are tighter than I have seen on any gun including Baer, Brown, or Wilson. The differences are in the small details (trigger, sharp edges, GS fit, etc.) In those respects, my Kimbers beat it. My Kimbers outshoot the Dan Wesson from a rest or free...

Help picking a new 9mm full size non-polymer handgun

How about a 9mm 1911. They shoot better than any other 9mm I've had.

    Finally found my 1911 9mm.

Tripp research makes some great followers to put in 9mm 1911 mags. I hear that the metalform mags are the best, but mine is 100% with any mags I've used. 3000+ rounds and counting. I do want a full size, however, this one shoots great.
